In tufted dining sets, tufting can take the shape of unique patterns and styles, including but not limited to:
- Biscuit: Biscuit tufting is also known as square tufting or grid tufting, and involves a pattern of equal-sided blocks in straight rows and columns. Most associated with: Modern and mid-century modern styles.
- Diamond: Diamond tufting involves two sets of diagonal lines, each moving in opposite directions from the other. This results in a series of squares on their sides which resemble diamonds (hence, the name). Most associated with: Traditional and modern styles.
